Just a couple of corrections to your posting. My husband's great-great-great-great grandfather was James Huie, and we're descended from Robert Huie, one of Joseph's siblings.
James and Mary Lynn Huie had six children who lived to be adults.
Margaret (27 Sep 1767 - 17 Nov 1841)
Pheby (1767 - ?)
Mattie (1775 - ?)
Joseph (1755 - 28 Jan 1858)
Elizabeth (1777 - Jul 1860)
Robert (02 Feb 1779 - 02 Jan 1857)
James, Joseph, Robert and six generations of descendents are all buried in the Huie Family Cemetery at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church here in Forest Park, Clayton County, GA.
I have extensive records for Robert's descendents, and an archival volume has been published for Joseph's side, too, but I don't have it.My volume does say that Joseph was married to Eleanor (Nellie) Bradford, and I believe she's buried at the Old Huie Cemetery, too.
And according to the records of this Huie family, James Huie was an actual spy in the Revolutionary War -- "...he was in two wars under George Washington. The first was the French and Indian war in this country and the second when Washington was Commander in Chief of the Colonies and what was known as the Revolutionary War.He was a spy in this war and was captured twice and would have been shot but for his strong will, quick sense of action, and determination with the province of God made his escape..."
Wish I knew more about Joseph's family, but if you need more, let me know, because the reunion is coming up in October.
Hope this helps!
