Hi Terry, I have recently started to research my wife's HULME side of the family. Saw your interest in the Blacksmith occupation in this family. Its possible a James Hulme from Pendleton is related to my wife's line as her GGgrandfather, The 1841 Pendleton census has a James around the right age with the occupation as a Blacksmith. I am still trying to tie him in to my wife's family and have him in the 1851, Collyhurst, Manchester census as an Engine Driver. I don't think this means a Train driver and might be something related to heavy equipment, Maybe related to forging. But I am still researching this chap.
