Guy Dotson Alley, 85, of Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN, passed
away early Wednesday morning, August 5, 2009, at his
residence with his daughters by his side.
He was a native and life long resident of Hawkins Co TN.
Mr. Alley was the son of the late Thomas Cleve and Clara
Dotson Alley. He was a 1942 graduate of Church Hill High
School. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the
Asian Pacific Theatre in New Guinea and The Southern
Mr. Alley was retired from Tennessee Eastman Company
following 43 years of service. He was a member of Oak
Grove Baptist Church, Mt. Carmel, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
his wife, Betty Hurd Alley; son, Mark A. Alley; brothers,
Otto, Earl, and W. O. (Ola) Alley; and sisters, Lena
Alley, Lorraine Alley Kinkead, and Ellaree Alley Adams.
His is survived by his daughters, Theresa Gibbons and
husband Ed, of Jonesborough, TN, and Guila Christian and
husband David, of Warrior, ALA; grandchildren, Shannon
Christian and wife Claudia of Land O' Lakes, FL, Mitzi
Gibbons Smith and husband Cliff of Franklin, TN, Kelli
Christian Johnson and husband Stan of Birmingham, AL, and
Josh Gibbons and wife Lisa of Johnson City, TN; and six
great grandchildren, Ashton, Presley, and Kendall Smith,
and Marisa, Grant and Corinne Gibbons.
The family will receive friends, Friday, August 7, 2009.

A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., in the funeral
home chapel with Dr. Randall Pressnell officiating. Music
will be provided by Lighthouse Quartet.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 8,
2009, at 10 a.m., at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport,
TN, with Dr. Randall Pressnell officiating. Military honors
will be conducted by the Hawkins County Color Guard and
the Tennessee National Guard. Family and friends are asked
to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Pallbearers will be
Bill Kinkead, Phil Kinkead, Dan Alley, Randy Alley,
Patrick Hurd, and Dana Hurd. Honorary pallbearers will be
Ray Hurd, York Hurd, George Morrison, Joey Strickler,
George Cloud, Harry Morgan, Bobby Quillen, and Arleigh
