Virginia 'Jenny' Hurd, 80, Big Stone Gap, VA, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013, at home.
She was born May 30, 1933, in Bartley, WVA, and lived in Coeburn, VA, and Big Stone Gap, most of her life. She was a nurse at the former St. Mary’s Hospital in Norton. She was of Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Mullins, and her second husband, Oscar Ray Hurd; her son, David Brandon Hurd; her parents, Roy and Reba Robinson Evans; her sister, Betty Ann Redman; and two brothers, Billy Roy Evans and Delmer Evans.
Surviving are two brothers-in-law, Joe Redman, of Mount Carmel, TN, and Roy Hurd and wife Edna, of Bristol, TN; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Chad and Elizabeth Hartsock, of Dryden, VA, and Susie Robey, of East Stone Gap, VA.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, October 4, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn, VA, with the Rev. Alan Collier officiating.
The family and friends will meet at the cemetery by 9:50 a.m., on Friday.
