I am from NY, and my mother was a Hughson, from English/German decent. We have records of some relatives from SC, that were from the same family, but took on different home states when they can to America. We have record that some of the family members changed their last name to Huson, sometime in the late 1700's and changed back in the mid 1800's. You may be able to locate more information searching under "Huson". We recently did a Geaneology report in my family to trace family roots. We did come across a John Huson, that changed his name to Hughson at marriage. I can't even be sure that this is the same John Hughson that you are looking for, or that there is even any relation. With only know that he was the son of Cornelius Edward Hughson and Sarah Wing. He also had 5 siblings. There is more information on this on "Family Tree Maker's Geaneology Site". We should be posting a well researched Family Tree sometime in the future. Good-Luck in your search, I hope that my information can be of assistance.
