Robert....I have a couple of questions for you.You have an "Amanda" listed as a child of Nicodemus Hutcheson. Can you tell me where you got that info?
I also have 5 children listed for him, but it doesn't include an Amanda.I have not been able to find them in 1870, which would help verify his children, but I do find them in 1880 in AZ.I did find an Amanda Smith b. 1863 AR living next door to Nicodemus & Elizabeth md. to Morris Smith also in 1880.What I have for Nicodemus is:
Elijah B. b. 1857 AR Shelby U. (Ulysses or Ussery) b. 1859 AR Nicodemus b. 1867 MO William F. b. 1869 AR Florence b. 1873 AR
Obviously, between 1859 & 1867 there had to be at least one other child which Amanda would fit into nicely.
When you said they went to AZ from MO, I'd like to know where in MO they were, or were they in AR as indicated by the 1880 census?
Nicodemus did not take his mother Elizabeth with him.She was in Polk Co., MO where she died in 1874 and is buried in Mt. Olive Cem.
Shelby U(lysses/Ussery), Nicodemus' brother did not get killed in in 1864.He died in Polk Co., MO in 1896 and is buried in Mt. Olive Cem.Another brother, Sargent Wisdom Hutcheson was killed in 1864 in AR.
Do you know when Shelby U., son of Nicodemus went to the Klondike? He was md. 15 June 1879 In Yavapai Co., AZ to Elizabeth B. Bristo(w).I find no sign of them in 1880 at all.
