Here's what I've pieced together from my own research and other postings - hope its helpful:
There are a lot of Johns in this part of the family, so it's helpful to number them (even though it does not appear that they numbered themselves).
John Hutcheson (IV) (b. 1740, d. 4/13/1782) married Elizabeth Chiles on 4/30/1763.They had 5 boys - John (V) (my ancestor - b. 4/7/1772), Chiles, Samuel, William, and Richard - and 4 girls - Jemima, Mary, Susannah, and Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Chiles's father was Henry Chiles, who died 7/6/1756.
John (IV) was one of 6 children of John Hutcheson (III) (b. 1707, d. 1761) and an unknown wife. The younger John's siblings were Ambrose, Mary, Charles, Richard, and Peter.
John (III) was the son of John Hutcheson (II) (b. 1684, d. before 1712) and Mary Dudley. They were married in 1706.I don't know if John (III) had any siblings.
John (II) was the son of John Hutcheson (I) (b. 1656, d. 12/3/1727) and Martha (b. 1661, d. bef. 1692).They were married in 1681.John (II) may have had a brother named William, but I'm not sure about that.
John (I) was the son of William Caswell Hutcheson (b. 1604, d. 1688) and Elizabeth Bond (b. abt. 1632, d. abt. 1681).William came to America from England about 1618, and he was a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses in 1632.Elizabeth Bond was his second wife.Elizabeth's father was named John Bond, but that's all I know about him.
There are quite a few descendants of these Hutchesons still living in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, including some of my relatives.
