I am trying to confirm/deny my relationship with Catherine Hutchinson of William Jr.'s line. She is the youngest child, and my Catherine (don't have a maiden name yet, but thinking it is Hutchinson) was born January 3, 1775 per her tombstone in Lebanon, Warren County, OH. She was the wife of Joseph James (this I know), and Joseph's and Catherine's 2nd son was named Aaron Hutchinson James in 1801. The census reports in 1850 that she was from New Jersey, and Aaron and his older brother William H. (not sure if this H stands for Hutchinson as well?) were both born in New Jersey by census records as well.
I don't know anything more about Joseph James (yet, but not for lack of trying), however I recently discovered in court chancery records that Catherine was the name of his widow, and that she remarried. After that I put all the pieces together, but do not have proof that her maiden name is Hutchinson outside of the surmising I have based of her 2nd son's middle name.
The Catherine Hutchinson born to William Hutchinson, Jr out of Middlesex County, NJ was born in January of 1775, though I've seen dates such as the 3, 13 and 17th listed on various web sites. It just seems too close of a connection ... it has to be the same women right? I'm just trying to search for the smoking gun fact to make it positive. Any help or any knowledge anyone has out there on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
I've been trying to get in touch with Richard S. Hutchinson who has done a lot of seminal work on this family, but I'm not sure if he is even alive anymore?
