I hesitate to let this information out because from searching the web everyone is believing V. Gilmore Iden whose research was not all that great.I am a descendant of John Frederick Iden through his grandson Samuel s/o Randall.About twenty years ago I was searching Bucks County, PA parish records on an LDS film and came across the following:
Abington Friends Monthly Meeting
John Frederick Iden d. 6.12.1694 and ______ Iden
Ann b. 12.25.1679/80 at Hamberg German John Henry b. 8.6.1684 d. 1.4.1755 Dorothy b. 11.1.1686/7 Hamberg Germany Susannah b. 8.25.1688 Rosemond b. 7.9.1692 Hyeronymus b. 1.17.1694 on shipboard before Plymouth, England (our ancestor???)
Hannah Iden died 12.2.1743 w/o John Iden and daughter of jacob Simcock 50 years 5 months Mary Iden d. 10.15.1747, 49 years 8 months 4 days, buried Chiltenham w/o John Iden and dau of Joseph Mather. Elizabeth d. 1.22.1767 of Abington
Unfortunately I did not write down the film number - but this really needs to be verified. As I see it everyone has blindly accepted V. Gilmore Iden's research.
I have also found a marriage for Samuel Iden s/o Randall(Hyeronymous) to Anna Catherine Loch dau of Jacob. They had a daughter, Johanna, baptized at Keller's Lutheran Church, Bedminster Twp, Bucks County, PA in 1751.The father was listed as Samuel Eiden (English Quasker).
I sincerely believe that our Idens were German not English.I hope I have not opened Pandora's box here.
