Hi--I had been requesting this IMEL forum since my husband's grandmother was Lillie IMEL b. Ford Co. KS and descended from Peter IMEL & Susanna KIRKWOOD. Lillie IMEL was md. to Lewis Edward BEEVER, also of Ford Co. KS. They later moved to Los Angeles Co. CA where they eventually passed away and are buried at Rose Hills Cemetary in Whittier, CA. All of Lillie IMEL & Lewis BEEVER's offspring have died. Some grandchildren and great-grandchildren remain (scattered) here in California.
HAS THERE BEEN AN UPDATE OF THAT BOOK ON THE IMELS??? Another family researcher sent some copies of an article book with descendants. If I recall correctly, my husband's line stopped with Lillie. We have a photo of her entire sibling group with parents. The photo in the book cut Lillie's picture out at the upper right. The photo was damaged, but she was there!
Anyone have any other photos of these IMEL descendants.Seems to me that the original IMEL brother immigrants were md. in Frederick MD. That was mentioned in the article. We also have that tradition of the Hessian mercenaries--and desertion to fight with the Americans in the Revolution. (but I've seen similar "family legends" for other surnames as well......doesn't mean it isn't true, however!)
