Melchor Engle of Va had a son Michael of NC...
In Engle vs. Burns (VA; Case On Appeal; Judgement filed May 1805) It seems that Michael Engle was bequeathed land from his father "Milker Engle" (PER Melchor's Will dated 12 Jan 1760). This case file involves this VA land that Michael inherited and which he lived on at one point ... and then apparently sold. [His brother] Philip Engle was named as a Principal in this case. Michael Engle gave his sworn Statement regarding the particulars on 19 Apr 1790 in North Carolina.
I am researching the Michael Engle of Mecklenburg>Tryon>Lincoln CO, NC (county formation but same area).
Some list this Michael who was of Lincoln NC as the son of this Melchor Engle of VA, & it would seem that per this VA case file.... that Michael who was the s/o Melchor did remove to NC.
Does anyone know more about the Michael who was the son of Melchor? Has anyone "pulled" these VA land records? Has anyone "pulled" this case file to determine where this Statement (Michael's) was actually filed.
Is anyone on this Board researching this group?
All leads appreciated.
Thank you.
