I have only just begun researching my husband's INGLEBY line so I don't have a great deal of information.
He is descended from John INGLEBY who married Ann GOODWIN - 1862 - St Mary, Bishopshill Jnr. York.
Son - John Ibbottson INGLEBY
Regarding the INGLEBY 'conk' you are right, it is a feature of the Ingleby face...and carried by all the Inglebys that I have met, including my own children....One nephew was so unhappy about it that he had a 'nose job' done on it...and I admit it was an improvement.
Maybe there is a connection here....
