I have just done a search on Ingley as I am just looking at starting at tracing my roots, I will look into some more details but hear are a couple of basics.
My family are all from Birmingham.
I was born in 1971. My fathers name was Keith and his fathers was James.
Little story for you.
My great (possibly great great grandfather) stole counterfitted plates for the old english white £5 notes. I thought it was only a rumour as my grandmother told me the story when I was young and she said that was when the family dropped the H of Hingley to Ingley !!
The story was told about 20yrs ago in a Saturday Edition of the Birmingham Evening mail (Special storys each Saturday)
It was also in one of the detective maazines (I think true detective) about the man who was hung twice and buried twice, but I have not been able to find a copy.
The name may of been William Booth, or that was one of his partners.
If any one is intrested in any more details then drop me an email.
