Looking for additional information regarding my great-grandfather, CHARLES Robertson INGLIS' parents and siblings. Charles father Alexander INGLIS was born 22 Apr 1836 in Haddington to William INGLIS & Agnes CUMMING. Alexander died 8 Feb 1899 in North Leith.
Alexander married Jane (Jean) Burns ROBERTSON. Jane ROBERTSON was born 7 Aug 1839 in Prestonpans, Haddington to George ROBERTSON & Margaret BURNS.

On September second after the bans according to the Church of Scotland, Alexander INGLIS, a leather tanner, bachelor, age 25 and Jane ROBERTSON, a domestic servant, spinster, age 22 were wed. Alexander's parents were William INGLIS, gardener and Agnes Inglis ms CUMMING. The record was signed by William Graham of the Manse of the Parish of Newhaven, Edn., Alexandre Inglis, and the witness John Milne. The marriage was registered on September 4th at North Leith. ** In 1881, the INGLIS family were living at 15 Hillhouse Field Or Trafalgar Lane, North Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland (EnumDist 21 Page 4). Alexander INGLIS, aged 44, born in Prestonpans, Haddington, [East Lothian] Scotland was the household head. He worked as a skinner. His wife Jane INGLIS, aged 40, was also born in Prestonpans, Haddington, Scotland. Their 18 year-old daughter Margaret was a domestic servant. She was born in the City of Edinburgh. All of the other children were born in North Leith. They were: William INGLIS, 16 an apprentice skinner, George 14, an apprentice joiner, Alexander 12, Agnes 9, Charles 6, Peter 4 and Alice 1. ** By the time of the 1891 Census, County of Midlothian, District of Leith South, the INGLIS household was comprised of Alexander, 55; his wife Jane 50 and their four children: Alexander 22, Agnes 19, Charles 17 and Peter 14. The three older children: Margaret, William and George were no longer with their parents. Alice, who would have been 11, must have either died or been with relatives. ** Alexander died of spinal sclerosis after suffering for six months. His parents---William INGLIS, a gardner (market) and Agnes Inglis ms CUMMINGS were both deceased. At the time of his death, Alexander's occupation was 'skinner'. His wife's name is recorded as Jane Robertson. His eldest son, William, was the informant.
