I have been wondering about the name "Ingold" in Britain as well. I know it appears in several place names (Ingoldmells in Lincolnshire for one). I have also learned that it is originally a Viking name, appearing on a Viking runestone circa 6-7th century. I would welcome all correspondence with any and all Ingolds who would like to share what they know about this great name!
My own Ingold family tree originated in the Thurgau region of Switzerland. Seeing how the Vikings spread far and wide there are bound to be branches of Ingolds all over Europe.
In case you're wondering I now live in southern Oregon, USA.
