Hello Ron, I have been reading your posts with great interest; it seems that some of the details of our ancestor’s lives have been hidden very well. Keep up the good work of listing new facts when they are found.
In regards to you message of 8/31/02 – since starting this thread, I have been able to find considerably more on the family of Abraham Inloes of Fells Point.
1. Your “Abraham Jr.”, the son of Abraham Inloes was born in 1773. This information was provided by a Sampler made by his sister Temperance, into which she stitched her brother Abraham’s birth date. Given this birth date, it would seem he would have been too young at age 10, to engage in a land transaction in or before 1783. 2. You are correct; Temperance Inloes did marry Thomas Childs on 2/11/1802. This union resulted in eleven children. Temperance died on 8/23/1831 in Baltimore County, Maryland. The Elizabeth appointed her guardian was her mother. 3. You are correct again; William Inloes was born after 1776, but before 1790. This William went on after his military service to become very wealthy as a trader in real estate, in the Baltimore area. William married Mary Sewell, the daughter ofNathaniel Sewell & Rebecca Childs. William died in 1852 in Baltimore County, Maryland.
At this point, I am still searching for more information regarding the older sons of Abraham & Elizabeth Inloes, who were Anthony and Abraham. I would be quite interested in any details that any one may be able to offer.
