One of my daughters, Michelle Innocent, has re-kindled my appetite for research into our family name.I wonder if you have covered ground which would save me much time?
My tree, as far as I know it, also goes back to one Thomas Innocent, in the mid-18th century, who had a son, Joseph Innocent, who, I was told by ancient Aunt (Edna Innocent), was born in 1782, but this might not be accurate. Both were watchmakers.
I have a tree from there-on, for my branch of the Innocent family, also Coventry based - I was born in Meriden, 1950, of Coventrian parents (Ralph Godfrey Innocent, b. 06/05/1919..still living).
I note that you contacted a Peter T Innocent, who is not in my tree, but very likely related. He was also born in "Meriden" (1947) as was my sister, Janet Innocent (1948).(The reason why Meriden featured, is because the Authorities had moved the maternity unit out of Coventry during WW2.Although it then came under the Urban District of Meriden, the maternity unit was actually in Keresley, now a district of Coventry.)
I am the last male of my Innocent family tree, as I had no brothers, and had three daughters, no sons.
So.I wonder if you can help us to further our family tree?Your help would be much appreciated.
