INSCHO PIONEERS OF DELAWARE
Obadiah and James Inscho were the children of two of the original pioneers of Delaware. They were likely not the only children of these Pioneers. In research most of the Inscho families have ten to twelve children.A note, taken at the time of my research in Philadelphia, indicates the area of Dover, Delaware as a residence. They may have sailed from Glasgow, Scotland. (Philadelphia Historical Society)

The surname Inscho is of patronymic origin.Patronymic surnames derive their origin from the personal name of the father of the original bearer. In this instance, the surname Inscho is derived from the personal name Inger. The surname Inscho signifies the "son of Inger." The personal name Inger is derived from the Old Norse personal name Yngvarr.
