Thought I would jump in and beat Brian Jnr to the punch. I am Brian's father. I also have had an interest in the family history and the family tree. It has not been easy as, supporting what you say, the earlier generations have been strangely silent on our "roots". I have met Carol Iselin from NY when my wife and I visited there back in '96. There was a remarkable likenes between her and a number of my family in Australia. My dad always said that if your name was Iselin, then you were related. But I am not sure that that is correct as there is a Russian family that apparentlytook the name for their own reasons. I am having some difficulty in tracing that particular rumour. My dad's name was Gordon Clayton; his father - Caspar Ronald; and his fater before (my great-grandfather)- Caspar. He was a first generation Scot who jumped ship in Melbourne Australia and started the family here. His fater before him came from Switzerland. We should talk more so I won't bore you with our first chat. Regards Brian I.
