Info on "Isenhour" in NC.Johann Nicholas Eisenhour m. Ann Margaretha ??? - son, Peter (1716 - 1802) m. Elizabeth Graff. Eisenhour/Isenhour researchers speculate that Peter's son, John Nicholas "Isenhour", b. 1749, left PA and moved to NC where he married Mary Myers, cir 1773.Mary's father was a large landowner in NC.John abandonded Mary and their five children in the late 1700's and Mary sued for divorce (her petition to the NC state Legislature is on file at the NC archives).Nothing further is known about John. The divorce was granted and Mary never remarried. She died in 1832.She lived with her son, Peter, and is buried in a family cemetery in Cabarrus Co. NC near the Rowan Co. line and Gold Hill, NC. I have extensive info on the children of Mary and specifically her son, Peter, b. 1776, d. 1850). There are also "Isenhours" in Catawba Co. NC who somehow are related to this line but I have not traced them. Will be glad to share further info.Contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
