Terry,
I'm sorry for providing superfilous information for you.As it evident, I am a novice at this.I am providing the follow up information from the gentleman in England, Graham Wontner-Smith, because, in his trying to sort out my erroneous information, it may provide you a clue to your Charles. It is all too confusing for me to sort out.
Regards,
Jim Isitt

Hi Jim.
Your two e-mails yesterday have me somewhat confused.I must be missing something but I cannot see how Terry Harding's GGGG
grandfather Charles Isitt (1767-1821) could be the same as Jonathan's father?
Jonathan's father, Charles, was baptised on 27 Sep 1776 at Withcote. If I ever told you it was 1767 (and I don't recall doing so) I must
carelessly have transposed the figures in typing. His parents were only married on 16 May 1776 at St. Margaret's Leicester and Charles
was their eldest son.He married Elizabeth Spencer of Braunston at Braunston on 7 Aug 1799 and had 3 children by her - Elizabeth bap 6
Dec (or Oct?) 1799 at Knossington about whom no more is known; George bap 30 May 1802 at Knossington who married Mary Wiggington
at Knossington on 4 Jul 1824 and had 4 children; and Jonathan bap 3 Nov 1805 at Knossington.
Charles and Elizabeth appear to have parted company - he going on to produce a succession of bastard children with Elizabeth Lockwood
all baptised in Knossington. These were Thomas 26 Jan 1808; George 15 Jan 1814; Sophia 25 Aug 1816; William 27 Dec 1818; Frederick
6 Feb 1820; and Eliza 14 Mar 1824.Charles and Elizabeth Lockwood finally married on 24 Jul 1826 and produced one legitimate child,
John, baptised at Knossington on 2 Mar 1828.During this time his first wife Elizabeth appears to have been producing a succession of
bastard children in a nearby village described as a "married woman but living separate from her husband"!
Charles finally died on 26 Jan 1844 and is buried in Knossington churchyard. He left a short will drawn up the day before he died.
It is difficult to comment further without knowing more details of Terry Hardy's family - where for instance they were born, married and died.It
must be remembered there were a great many Isitts around at that time and a comparatively restricted range of christian names were used
so its almost certain there would have been other Charles Isitts in the vicinity.
End of email...
