I brought the papers that were sent to me from a Swilley correspondent in Georgia. The data was given to her second-hand.It seems that the original letter was from alady in Nebraska.I can e-mail you her name if you need it ,but I hesitate to put anyone's name on line without permission. The letter was dated in the 70's. Now, here is what she had: Husband: Thomas Terry Prestwood b.Jan.16,1782 Chesterfield District, S.C. d.Sept. 8 ,1853 bur. Wilkinson Co. Ga. Wife:Mary Elizabeth (Polly) Swilley b.Kershaw Co. S.C. Abt.1851 bur. unk. Her father: John Swilley Her Mother: Betsey Isler Betsey(Elizabeth)'s father was William "Issler" b. 1720 s/o Christian Isler b.1694 s/o Nicholas Issler b.1661 in Germany....settled in New Bern, N.C. (The recipient of that letter further added the Coleman line. Now, thanks to your help, I believe thatthe Swilley family is NOT married into this Issler line, at least not the way it was presented---if at all!! I do not want to perpetuate errors, and so, I thank you very much for sharing your family data.BettieP.S. My Elizabeth Swilley possible dau. or grand dau. of John Swilley, married Allen Stewart of Kershaw Co. S.C. We have found Islers living by our Swilley contingency in Jones Co. N.C. If you ever see ANY clue that a Swilley did marry an Isler, please do let us know. Thanks!
