Re: James A. Isom
James A. Isom may be the son of Edward Isham and Rachel Webb, but this is just speculation. The two were from Georgia, but moved to Johnson County, Arkansas after living in Tennessee.

In the biography "Confessions of Edward Isham: A poor white life of the Old South" Isham talks about having a son with Rachel in Johnson County. He said they called him James.
Edward Isham later moved east, leaving his wife and son in Arkansas, and was convicted of murder in North Carolina in 1860.
The book mentioned above was edited by Charles Bolton and Scott Culclasure, and describes Isham's life as told by him to his attorney.
