Looks like we may be related, distantly of course.My husband, Thomas, posted a brief message earlier.My mother Ruby Anne Ivester Rhoads was born to Matthew Isaiah Ivester and Pernicia Anna Roby, in Viola, Fulton Co, Arkansas.Her line continues as follows:Matthew's father:John Ivester, b 10 Oct 1844 in Habersham County Georgia.(John married Priscilla Murphy [Murthey?].I have a copy of the original marriage license in which the spelling appears to be Murthey) John's siblings were:George, b. 1819; William, b 24 Oct 1814; Elizabeth, b 1824; Jacob, b 1831; Jesse, b 1833; Jalie, b 1833; Barbara, b ?; Jerushia b ?; Isac b ?; Peter b?;
John's father:George Newell Ivester b. approx 1770; mother, Anna Rucker b. approx 1795.George's siblings:Elesebeth, Polly Jacob; and an unborn infant as of 8 Oct 1791. (I recently found a will abstract inRUTHERFORD COUNTY, NC, WILL ABSTRACTS 1779-1910.The will was probated Jan, 1792, wife's name was Barbara, an unborn child was indicated in the will).
Just when I was wondering where to go next to find out more about Hugh, I found your posting on the Ivester Forum.I would like to know more about your research.I have run across some interesting stories about the Ivesters along the way from NC to Arkansas.I would love to share them with you.I found where Hugh was about to lose property in NC in 1782 for tax default, did he lose it?This is as far back as I have been able to trace him.
