Hi Sue (and Jason)

I'm delighted to find your discussion of the Newington Ivory's. Samuel Ivory was my great great grandfather, and I am descended from him via his daughter Sarah, who married William Long, my great grandfather. It sounds, Sue, as though you are interested in this line, and as though you, Jason, have researched particularly that of William Reuben, one of Samuel's brothers.
I knew that Samuel and William Reuben's father was James Ivory, and that he married a Ph(o)ebe. I'd assumed that this pair were James IVY and Phebe CLARKE, who, according to the Newington Marriage Register married on 12 Oct 1796, but I have always been in some doubt, since James and Ph(o)ebe's first child, James, was baptised on 5 Feb 1796 - a little early. You, Jason, obviously believe that a James IVORY and Phoebe COOPER are the parents.
I'd be delighted to hear of your views on James and Phoebe, and, of course, on any aspect of the Ivorys and Longs.

All best wishes to both of you
Bill
