William:
I was doing some research on my father in law, Dr. Emmette Farr Izard family when I noted the name Mason Izard. For the past 10years I have attempted to find a John Henry Izard, but to no avail. In my previous research I noted the 1790 and 1800 census reflected a Mason and also a widow,Margaret Izard..with 3 young sons living in Abbeville County, S.C. near the Ga. border. As a last resort to finding Matthew Izard's father(?) John Henry, I felt Margaret might be the Grandmother of Matthew. He did name his first daughter Margaret and his son WILLIAM HARRISON.Also her age and the 3 boy's ages do fit the profile. I was hoping John Henry was one of the boys.Unfortunately, I could find no further information relative to Margaret. Is it possible that John, son of Mason could be her husband? If he were, it may be possible to learn of the 3 boys names, I realize the odds are not good, but do you have any information relating to John or Margaret?Abbeyville is about 100 miles from my home in Atlanta, so a research trip would not be a problem.Steve
