I don't believe I am related to this line, but researching another Jackson line in the same area.Just saw two marriages in Wilkes County, GA.One for Harriett F. Charlton who married Jesse M. Jackson May 26, 1835, and another for Sarah E.T. Charlton who married John Jackson December 15, 1835 (after the date you listed).I have a copy of Jesse M. Jackson's will dated 1855 if your interested. In it, it says
"5th.Any property coming to my wife Harriett F. Jackson from her mother Francis Charlton or property left in trust by M. Pray to Francis Charlton and children be received by my wife Harriet F. Jackson as a portion of her legacy coming from my estate. In the event that my wife Harriet F. Jackson should marry, then I wish my whole estate divided equally between my wife and surviving children the amount coming or received from Mrs. Charlton to be considered as a part of my wife legacy coming from my estate."
Jesse M. Jackson's will is dated October 1, 1855 and probated October 19, 1855.I believe Jesse is the son of Wyche Jackson who died July 1854 in Chambers County, AL (I have a copy of his will too). There are no names of any children listed in Jesse's will.If you have any questions about Jesse or Wyche's will, I'd be happy to share.
As for the relationship of Ann Pray, I'm not sure who she is.I did look up the name Charlton on the 1830 census in Wilkes Co., GA and there is an Arthur Charlton with 5 daughters and no sons in district 166.In district 164 in Wilkes Co., GA there is an M. Pray.He is listed as "Wm. B Norman for M. Pray."Have you looked at obtaining a copy of the will/probate for Ann Pray?Is it in Wilkes Co., GA as well?Good luck on your search! Aymee
