Still looking for information on Edmund Jackson of Chambers County, AL, who married Nancy Powell of Wilkes County, GA prior to 1839.
Found some additional information.Matilda Jackson who married Jethro Hamlin is definitely not Edmund's daughter. However, she is the daughter of Absalom Jackson who died in 1838 in Chambers County, AL.Heirs of Absalom were listed in probate records as wife, Abigail, and daughters: Elizabeth - married Thomas Jefferson Brooks in GA Matilda - married Jethro Hamlin in GA Phebe - married William Thompson in AL Palmira - married Robert P. Miles in GA Epsey - married William C. Hamilton in GA Abigail - married William C. Stephens in AL Mary - married Royal Floyd Tucker in AL
Wondering if Edmund might be a brother or cousin to Absalom? Not positive on a timeline of Edmund, just that he is in Chambers County, AL by 1838 until 1860.Not sure what happens to him after 1860.Don't know if this is the same Edmund listed as a son of Drury Jackson and Ann Mayfield?Edmund's wife is Nancy Powell, the daughter of Frances Powell of Wilkes County, GA.
Absalom's timeline is the following: born about 1781-1790 not sure where, possibly Georgia 1815 Jones County, GA 1820 Monroe County, GA 1830 Meriwether County, GA 1837/38 Chambers County, AL
The Moore name is also mentioned in Absalom's will, Gideon and Richard.Found some people who have Gideon and Richard Moore listed as twins living in the Georgia and Alabama area. They also have their parents as Joseph Iddings Moore and Jane Jackson.Could Jane be related to Absalom and Edmund, and could he have asked his "nephews" to help his wife after his death, since he did not have any sons living?
At a brick wall.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
