Jahns 1917 Hannover Russian Connection (Petersburg)?
Hello everyone, I am very new to this.
My great-great-grandfather was apparently a Mr Jahns from Hannover, Germany, who moved to St Petersburg, married a Russian woman from Voronezh, Olga Vasiliev (probably Vasilieva?), and they were killed in the Russian Revolution 1917 (rich bourgeoisie? tsarist, probably), only their two daughters escaped via Finland to Germany. Or so the family story goes. Can anyone verify this? I'd be very grateful,
