I am interested in learning more about the Jamieson line I have found first from Scotland then to Ireland to US and want to make sure it is correct. Here is what I have:
William Jamieson b. 1769 Ayrshire, Scotland, d. 1845, Ayrshire, Scotland m. Janet Carlisle b. 1765 d 1825 Hospital in Edinburgh, Scotland
Their son: James Jamieson b. abt 1800 Muirkirk, Ayrshire, Scotland; d. Nov 2 1869 Muirkirk, Ayrshire, Scotland. m. Jane Brown b. 1799 Sandwick, Shetland Islands, Scotland, d. January 1, 1886 Yell, Sandwick, Shetland (not sure how she could be from Shetland being so far away and a son in Ireland...)
Their son: Daniel Jamieson b. May 25,1817 Ballymena, Ireland d. 1905 Morristown New Jersey. m. Jane Paul b.4-7-1814 d. jan 4 1884 Morristown, NJ (I have her death cert). (I'm curious is Daniel is an Ulster-Scot having parents from Scotland originally and come to Ulster Plantation?)
Their son: John William Jamieson (1855-1909- would like more information on him) m. Caroline Sophia Bird (1858-1953). (Also if anyone has info on Caroline Sophia's mother Anna Sutton (1829-1863, m. John Bird) who died young originally from Manchester, England I would be greatly appreciative. I contacted NJ State archives but they have no death certificate on file.
Their daughter: Ruth Bird Jamieson (1898-1993) was my great grandmother and I am named after her.
