Emmanuel Jarman, your gr-gr grandfather was my gr grandfathers younger brother, 3 years younger. I have been trying to trace his family to present day as they were close. My gr-grandfather was Willoughby Jarman and they were both Privates in the 35th regiment, Company A, NC Troops, CSA. Both went through the whole war, Willoughby was captured March, 1865, and Emmanuel was with Lee when he surrendered at Appomattox. If you have anything new let me know. I have accounts of all the battles they were in and a roster of the 35th Regiment. Absolutely fascinating? We have no idea of how these men must have suffered, and yet they survived went back to NC, had families, and here we are.
