My query concerns Samuel Jennison, born ca. 1764, married to Zibah (Newton?) ca. 1785, died 2 September 1834, Southborough, Worcester Co. MA.
Samuel and Zibah had the following issue:
1.John, born 14 May 1786 in Southborough, Worcester Co. MA 2.Sylvester, born 05 December 1789 in Southborough, Worcester Co. MA 3.Silas, born 12 April 1792, Southborough, Worcester Co. MA 4.Samuel, born 17 April 1795, Framingham, Middlesex Co. MA 5.Dana, born 24 August 1799, Southborough, Worcester Co. MA
This much i know, but what I have yet to find convincing evidence is of Samuel's parentage.Different IGI records show him as the (unrecorded in any other source) son of Samuel Jennison and his wife Hannah Perkins of Sutton, but offer no proof to make his claim.Other records show him as the son of Peter Jennison and his wife Jerusha Smith of Framingham, but again, no offer of proof is made.Samuel's mother may be "Widow" Jennison, who died in Southborough on 8 June 1811 (born 1739), but this is the only (albeit vague) clue i've seen.
My questions are these:
1.Is anyone else researching this man? 2.Are probate records in Worcester and Middlesex Co. still existant for this time period, and if so, are they indexed and/or microfilmed and available outside Massachusetts?
On a related note, i have a good-sized database of Jennisons compiled from vital records, etc. covering large portions of Massachusetts up to 1790.If anyone has a name they'd like me to check, i'd be more then happy.
