Hi Nicholas, I just noticed your note on genforum.com about Isaac Johnson & wives. I'm not sure if we have communicated before. I have been to the town hall in Brownfield a couple of times and that is where I found some of my info. My research is for a friend who is descended both from George Sumner Johnson, son of Calvin Johnson & Lavina Rogers & Elbridge Gerry Johnson, son of Calvin Johnson & Sally Hawkins. My main problem is with the mother of Calvin Johnson 1807-1881. At the town hall I discovered that Isaac Johnson c1780 - ?? was married to Abigail Dennett 10 sep 1825, to Shuah Binford Meserve 28 dec 1828 and Hannah Bragdon date unknown. Since Calvin Johnson was born in 1807, I concluded that Hannah Bragdon was his mother. However some documents state that his mother was Abigail Dennett. Of course the 1825 date for Abigail's marriage to Isaac could be wrong or I could have misinterpreted the info. Actually if you live near Brownfield, perhaps you could verify the date at the town hall. I also noticed you question about the location of the Isaac Johnson cemetery. Below is what I just found on findagrave.com. Would be happy to share any other info on this family. Also would be grateful for the lineage of Isaac's parents. Thanks, Bob Foran - Marlborough, CT
Isaac Johnson Cemetery
Brownfield Oxford County Maine USA
Cemetery notes and/or description: Checked in 1987. Copied by Ola-Mae Wheaton "This overgrown and barely visible cemetery is located on high ground on the north side of "Cook's Flat" between the old Broad Farm and a bend in the road. Due to the disrepair, one would have to be shown the location of this plot. Measurement of the area was not possible due to the thick overgrown bushes and tumbling stone wall. There is only one stone still standing. No other stones found--probably graves in southwest corner."
LMG note: Because this is called the Isaac Johnson cemetery, I would think that Calvin Johnson's father, Isaac and his wives plus other family members may also be buried here.
