Thanks, Kip - Malinda Elizabeth Bunch was the dau. of William Smith Bunch and Martha Raney Holcombe.William Smith and Martha are bd. Cardwell-Misenheimer Cemetery.Besides Malinda, they had Smith Jack Bunch, Henry Holcombe Bunch, William Newton Bunch, Cassandra Jane Bunch, and Horace L. Bunch.Smith Jack died 5 Jan 1863, from wounds received during the Battle of Vicksburg.
Malinda and John H. Jolley moved to Caldwell County TX in 1882, from Lafayette County MS.It appears that Malinda and John H. came to TX at the same time as did Wm. S. and Martha, but some of the rest of the children and their families did not come until 1889.
This from the book Historical Caldwell County, Where Roots Intertwine. The story was written by Joe H. Bunch, who also works on this cemetery project.
For those of you who don't know where Lockhart TX is - it is located in South-Central TX, Caldwell County, on US 183.It is South and East of Austin (I'm guessing now - maybe 30 miles from Austin ... ?)
