Jeffrey C. Jones, 58, of Jones Quarry Road, Greeneville,
Greene Co TN, passed away after a lenghthy illness,
Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Wellmont Holston Valley
Medical Center in Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN. He was born
January 21, 1954.
He was a tool and dye maker, having worked for MECO for 35
years and also had been employed at Georgia Granite Sales.
Mr. Jones was a member of Oakdale Union Church.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles T. Jones;
his grandparents, Parris and Pearl Duncan, and John and
Edith Jones; and a stepsister, Sharon Ragsdale.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Jones; mother and
stepfather, Shirley and Jack Ragsdale, of Afton, TN;
stepbrother, Warren Ragsdale, of Kingsport, TN; sister-in-
law and brother-in-law, Brenda and Larry Fortner; a niece,
Faith Fortner; nephews, Brad Fortner, and Josh Fortner and
wife, Tara; one great niece, Sadie Fortner, all of
Greeneville, TN; several other aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday, July
24, 2012, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Gene Wilcox,
Rev. Lewis Kizer, and Rev. Eddie Malone will officiate.
Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Hardins
Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Fortner and
The family will receive friends 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., and
6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Kiser-Rose
Hill Funeral Home.
A committal service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, in
Hardins Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to
meet at 1 p.m., at the funeral home to go in procession to
the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Fortner, Josh
Fortner, Carrol Blazer, Randy Blazer, Tim Jones, Eugene
Duncan, and Mark Proffit.
