I am a great-great niece of Augustus D. Juilliard.(Note correct spelling of Juilliard.)
He is the son of Jean(John) Juilliard and his wife Annetta Berlett.The family left France in 1836 with 5 children,They were to sail from LeHavre but severe storms held up the sailing of the ship, and while it was in the harbor waiting to leave, Augustus. D. Juilliard was born.The family arrived in New York, went up the Erie canal, across Lake Erie and down the Ohio Canal settling near Paris, Ohio in Stark County.
Gus's brothers and sisters were Julia b. 1821, Charles Louis b. 1823, Charles Fredrick b. 1825, George A. Juilliard b. 1829, Catherine Elise Juilliard b. 1833 (my Great Grandmother), Augustus D. Juilliard b. 1836, Anna Estelle Juilliard b. 1842 (the only child to be born in the United States.)

My father stopped in New York on his way overseas in WWI and visited with Uncle Gus.Wish I could remember more of what Dad told me about the visit.He had intended to visit his again on his return from Europe, but Uncle Gus dies what Dad was overseas.
