Kagy/Cagy/Blosser relationship
My name is Russ Blosser. My Blosser ancestors came to America in 1710 from Switzerland and settled in Conestoga Township, Lancaster County PA. Some of the later generations of Blossers moved to Rockingham and other counties in VA. My direct ancestors moved to Fayette County PA in the late 1700s.
I have noticed that there were Kagys in VA at one time, and that there were Cagys in Fayette County PA. In fact there is a Cagy/Blosser cemetery in Greater Point Marion in that county. Some of the headstones and still readable.
I would like to know if the Kagys and Cagys are the same family. Also, could someone fill me in on the history of this family. The Blossers and the Cagys seemed to have been close friends.
And finally, were the Cagy/Kagys Mennonites? Nickolas Blosser, my many greats grandfather, was labeled an Anabaptist and imprisoned for a while in Switzerland.
