Fellow KAHAN/COHEN searchers . . . Take a look at family data below which is actually my query posted on JewishGen.I just recently learned a branch of our KAHAN/COHEN family went to Montreal, as well as France, and Israel, in addition to the U.S., England, and South Africa - which I was already aware of. Coincidently (or not), when my grandparents, Barnet & Sarah (KAHAN/COHEN) Blumenthal left England to go to the U.S. in 1902, they went via Montreal.I now realize it was because they had family there.Their ultimate destination was Chicago:

Went to England 1887 or earlier
Went to U.S. in 1902 with 7 British-born children
Their 8 children:Harry, Annie (MORA), Julius, Abraham, Rebecca (PORTER), Phillip, Michael and Ida (HURWITZ) (born in Chicago)
Rose - married Hyman BENNISH (went by the name of BANUS), stayed in
England and had 6 children, one was Mark BANUS, a London CPA.
Mark married Annie HARRIS and had 3 daughters: Nancy ULLMAN,
Joan MASON, and Brenda Ruth GIBSON,
Bryna Rivka (Rebecca) - went to Chicago and married Barnett SNYDERMAN
and had 4 children:Anne (HERRE), Sarah (WHATLEY), Harry and
Two brothers - went to New York, one is named Julius,(w.Clara), and Willy (w. Mary FRIEDMAN), possibly in the clothing
Two brothers - went to South Africa, one is named Malech with his wife, Rose,
possibly in the clothing trade.At one point they lived in Rouxville,
Orange Free State.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
