Note: This is brother to Kyle L. Kanippe, 72, deceased
June 16, 2009, in Newark, OH. There is some confusion as
to whether the brother, Bill, has passed, as stated in
this original obituary. I do find 'B. Kanipe' in
Kingsport, TN, so I have altered the survivor list.

My sympathies for Evelyn and the Kanippe family.
Bert Lane Kanippe, 74, of Peru, IND, died Friday, June 24,
2009, at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IND.
Bert was born in Bulls Gap, TN, a son of the late Robert
Bannie Kanippe and Ida Ellen (Dean) Kanippe. He was a
retired GM in Marion, IND. He was a member of First Church
of the Nazarene, Peru, IND.
Bert spent the last 55 years loving his best friend and
wife, Evelyn (Short) Kanippe. He was also a loving father,
grandfather and friend to many; he never met a stranger.
Bert enjoyed working in his workshop and garden and giving
those gifts away. He also liked to fish with his buddies,
Floyd and Milford. One thing we will always remember about
Bert is his wonderful sense of humor. He loved making
people laugh. His motto: I can laugh or cry ... I choose
to laugh. We are so grateful that five years ago, Bert
accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and is now
making them laugh in Heaven!
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and
brother, Kyle L. Kanippe.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, Peru, IND; son, Bob
Kanippe of Peru, IND; daughters, Diana Caldwell and
husband, Chuck of Mexico, IND, and Pam Price and husband,
Greg of Warsaw, IND; grandchildren, Abbey Caldwell, Collin
Price, and Paige Price; brother, Bill Kanippe of
Kingsport, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
