Well, Gerald, I don't know if you've read any of what's posted on this site but somewhere it should say that in Drahovce the Karabas are the largest family and more than 60 of them came to America before 1925. Among Karabas, both in Drahovce and in America, the most common male name is Peter. When my mother came over after WWI she and her family traveled with Magadalena Karaba who was going to join her husband Peter in Cleveland. There was a Peter who came here in 1913 and eventually settled in Chicago after 10 years in Ohio. There are 5 or 6 other Peters who came here too. And about 5 years ago one of my Vanc'o cousins in Drahovce married another Peter Karaba. The other thing that should be mentioned is we are not collecting the names and statistics of Karabas. The purpose of this site is to help you if you want to find out about your Karaba ancestors so tht if you went to Drahovce you would know which of the many Karaba families are your relatives.
