Hi Zlatica,
Thank you again for all your help. A fews years back I ran into a brick wall with a Hunagraian ancestor and you were my savior then.
I am currently trying to get the church information. They lived between 2 different ones. A Hungarian Reformed Church and the Catholic Byzantine Church. Looking for cemetery records and actual headstones. The later generations were catholic so I starting there, but have not heard back.
In the 1920 census John is PA, Florence R AL and Roza R AL
In the 1930 census John is still PA and Florence AL
Was the town of Pedatahisbegkut, Transylvania, Romania in a region where either religion was predominent?
I have located Louis, Victor and Aurele Kardos (Cardis). What I am doing now is trying to locate Roza and her parents. I have read that the immigrants from 1880-1920 stayed to themselves and life was around the old ways and the church. The children assimilated and joined in.
I may never find the actual immigration records other then what is on Ancestry but I am hoping that the church records will tell me who the father of Janos was.On one of the manifests there are 2 names that I am trying to decipher in the "relative/friend" that they mention. For Janos Kardos he lists Vassily Kardos of Roebling, New Jersey. It is how he is related that I can not understand. Looks like "Vaisgis" They are both from the same town.
Again thanks for all your help.
