RUDOLPH KARL
AGE: 92 BRIDGEWATER
Rudolph Karl, 92, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville.
Born in Somerville, he resided in Raritan for many years before moving to Bridgewater 66 years ago.
Mr. Karl worked as a boiler operator for the Johns-Manville Corporation in Manville for 42 years until retiring in 1978, and was a member of its Quarter Century Club and a member of the Ostomy Club for 40 years, serving at its treasurer.
He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Bridgewater. Rudolph was an avid gardener, enjoyed woodworking, and was noted for his keen sense of humor and always being the life of the party. He cherished spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Ida Tischer Karl; a daughter, Kevin Karl; and a brother, Richard Karl.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 70 years, Alice Mueller Karl; his two cherished daughters, Judith Stoker and husband, Douglas, of Bridgewater, and Deborah Szewczyk and husband, James, of Harrison, Tenn.; his six grandchildren, Tod and Amanda Szewczyk, Jennifer and Russell Shaw, Jeffrey Stoker, Dana and James Jones, David and Rebecca Stoker and Scott Szewczyk; nine great-grandchildren, Avery, Evan, Emily, Emmet, Justin, Ryli, Jordyn, Brendon and Brooke; his beloved sister, Florence Daniels of Raritan; his nephew and fellow traveler, Craig Daniels of Raritan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
