The children of Samsaon and Clairissa were: Jane A Karnes Salder b. 1834, d. 1882, Margarete Karnes, b. abt. 1837, John H (Hampton) Karnes, b1839, died of wounds suffered at the 1st Manssas Battle, Elizabeth Karnes, b. 1841, d unk, George W C Karnes, b. 1843,Rebba Karnes Dixon, b 1846, Alice C Karnes, b. 1853.
Samson was the son of Jacob Karnes, Sr. a twin to George Karnes buried side by side in the Karnes Cemetery at Low Moor. The Twins were born to Michael and Catherine (Shaver) Karnes. Michael and Catherine moved from Botetourt to Bedford Co. in the early 1790's then they move on to Knox Co. Tenn. about 10yrs later (early 1800's). Michael Karnes died Intestatein 1812. Details of Estate and Distribution are in the Knoxville Court House.Good Luck, Bob Karnes.
