I'm one of your distant cousins. Abraham (Abe) Karp had two brothers (Wolff and Max)and a mother (Getel) who immigated to the USA also. Wolff is my great grandfather. He married Emily Wilmot of Corpus Christi, TX and they had LOTS of children, including my grandmother Lillian. Census records indicate that the family came from Kiev, Ukraine.
Earlier this week I travelled to San Antonio with a Karp cousin who was visiting from Los Angeles. We shared pictures with each other and my aunt who lives there. We have photos of Wolff and Max and many others that are not labelled. One is bound to be of Abe, but we're not sure which. There are also pictures enscibed in Russian that I am trying to have translated.
We also travelled to Agudas Achim Cemetery near downtown San Antonio. There we found a headstone for Abe (died July 29, 1922, born august 8, 1880) and an unmarked grave for his mother Getel (died March 3, 1903, age 63).
I have more information if you are still interested.
Karp relatives are hard to find, so I'd love to hear from you!
