In this game of family research, its not a matter of what you find, but how long you wait to find it.
As my original post said I am interested more in the BROWN side of the family.
My Grandmother Kathleen BROWN, also migrated to Australia from Dublin in 1926.She was sponsored by Hannah Hickey, a cousin.
Kathleen's parents were Michael John BROWN and Dora FARRELL, according to my grandmothers immigration papers.Kathleen was born 1896 in Dublin, and from the information I have, the youngest of (3?) children to Michael and Dora.
Dora apparently died when she was young and Kathleen was taken in by an Aunt Jane who lived in Railway Road, Dalkey. Michael was a bootmaker.
Kathleen also worked as a domestic for a Dr James Breen of Coliemore Road in Dalkey.I don't think it was a live in situation though.
Do you have any information on this BROWN family.I am afraid I know little more.
Regards, and many thanks for the response.I am in Australia, where are you? Dublin?
