These are spread over 5 graves.
It would appear that my grandfather James Hardwick Kaye added the final "e" and his immediate relatives followed suit.
I have been unable to get any further back than George Kay, my GGF married to Ann (almost certainly Booth)as I cannot find their marriage at present. George Kay was a slubber (cloth industry). Ann died 24.8.1871 at 40 Granville Terrace, Leeds and is buried in Beckett Street Cemetery as above - burial No. 33149, grave No. 2477. Ann would have been 47 when William Booth Kay was born. Seems a bit late, but still a possibility.
I do not have any record of John Kaye as the son of my George Kay, nor at present do I have a Martha Ann Kaye. Seems a bit unfortunate but Kay was a very common name in Honley and indeed in the West Riding of Yorkshire generally.
