My Keane's originally hail from a small place in Co. Mayo Ireland, called Murneen. My paternal ggggrandfather was a James Keane, born circa 1810, and he had at least two sons, James Jr and John, circa 1835. Their marriages and subsequent children are registered at Clanmorris, Kilcolman Parish register which can be accessed and searched FOCvia www.eastmayo.org. As is was around the time of the famine, family emigrated, lost touch and memories have gone, when those who knew the stories also passed over. If anyone has a Keane, connection to Kilcolman Parish Mayo, and thinks they could have a relative who is a siblingto one of my Murneen, ancestors I would be delighted to learn more. I know that a Mary Keane b. 1885, emigrated to Chicago in 1917, and married a Sweeney, but have no idea how to trace her, so help on her would also be appreciated.
