"William Elbert Kee, who was born near Central City, Iowa in 1893. He was married July 3rd.1918 at Alburnett, Iowa, to Fern Marie DeWoody, and they lived at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, when I used to correspond with him. They had a son: Earl Milton Kee, who was born August l7th.1920"
William Elbert Kee, is my Great Grandfather and of course Fern would be my Great Grandmother. It is correct that Earl Milton Kee was their son and my Grandfather. Earl married Phyliss Herrmann (my Grandmother). They had two children, Mary Louise Kee and William (Bill) Kee. I can't remember if he had a middle name. Mary married Gene Dennis Morris so that is where I come into the mix. I understand your supposed to follow the man when your forming a familytree but having had these wonderful people in my life is something I'll never forget. I can remember running around their home Cedar Rapids. Their house was built during the slavery underground movement and there were hidden passageways throughout the whole house. Just a blast for a kid. As for Bill, I know he did marry at least once. I was the ring bearer for his wedding at age 8 I think. He married a woman named Missy but that's all I know. They didn't last long and ended up getting a big D. They didn't have any kids. I'm not sure if he ever remarried. I haven't seen or heard from him in over thirty years. The last time I saw him he was some kind of big shot for McDonald's (I know, I know, just to funny). He may still be. I'll see if I can find him. Hopefully I can and ask him to fill in some more blanks for the rest of us.
