Have some answers after my last message regarding Alvin Keech, and more questions.
Alvin Welty Keech was the son of William L. Keech who was born about 1825 in Pennsylvania. William L. Keech was a Justice of the Peace, also listed in 1860's as a Lawyer. I have no idea who Alvin's mother was, but could she have had surname Welty?
In 1860 William L. Keech is with a woman/his wife named Ellen born about 1832:
1860 United States Federal Census Name: Elvin Kuch Age in 1860: 6 Birth Year: abt 1854 Birthplace: Pennsylvania Home in 1860: Windsor, York, Pennsylvania Gender: Female (not correct, gender was male) Post Office: Wrightsville
Household Members: Name Age William Kuch 30born PA Ellen Kuch 28born PA Elvin Kuch 6born PA Ida Kuch 1born PA
In 1870 William Keech's wife's name is Mary E. and she was born about 1840- are these two different women then? The woman in 1870 census would have only been 14 when Alvin was born. Alvin was mis-transcribed on the 1870 census as "Alice W. Keech". I have no idea who Susan Welty was, or how related, but if Alvin's mother was a Welty, Susan could have been a younger sister.
