Jim, this is my first posting, so I'm new to this.
In Cecil&Louise Shelton's book covering Shelton and other families in Rutherford, Bedford, Coffee, Franklin, Cannon, etc. counties in south Tennessee ("Descendants of Jessee Shelton and Some Related Families", LDS library in SLC, book section 929.273), it was noted that Richard Richmond was born Mar 31, 1785 Tenn, died Aug 18, 1854 in Macaupin(sp)County, IL; married(2nd) Aug 7, 1813 to Sarah Card. Lived in Rutherford Co. in 1810. Baptised in the Garrison Forks Baptist Church in 1812, excluded from that church in 1826, and was living in Macaupin(sp) Co.,IL per 1850 census; The Shelton book said he "had issue", but gave no more information.
Then,in "loper, Keller, VanMeter and Allied Lines" authored by Mrs William (Melba) Wood, Godfrey, IL in 1969(member Ninian Edwards Chapter DAR#513687, member National Genealogical Society,Wash.DC.,and a relative to me), she shows Richard R. being born to Richard S. and Lydia Richmond on Mar.31, 1784 in Tenn., and "an early pioneer of Macoupin County". He married Sara Vandergrif Card, who was born 8-15-1794; and their issue being:
William... b 2-28-1810; married Ophelia ______

Enoch and Margaret had Lucetta, Mary Ann, Alonzo(b1852,d 1931),Isabel, Emma, and Edward(died early).
Alonzo married Ella Barnstable(b1860,d1913) and had Ada, Elmer(b1886,d1970), May, and Harold.
Elmer married Ruby Duckels(b1896,d1985?) and had Rollin and Robert(b1917,d1981).
Robert married Virginia Lee(b 1917,d1973) and had John (me), Linda, and Sue.
(Richard R. thru Robert all lived in the Chesterfield locality; Enoch lived his later years in the adjacent locality of Medora.)
With all this you get a little more info on Richard R. and his offsrpring, and another line that traces back to him.
